This is very interesting!
Is the rest of the engine standard? I am no mechanic, so what is involved in doing this?

Fascinating... but do the photos need to be life size? They've taken 10 mins to load, and I'm still waiting!

Re: 2cv with smart turbo intercooler.
At the moment the rest of the engine is standard. 2cv engines are realy strong engines wich can endure 60hp for a long time as long as oil temperature, oil presure and level are ok. Also the aircooling has te be ok.
When it al works out fine I want to spent my Bigbore engine with low compression for more boost so more hp.

Can not wait to see more, I've also started a project similar to yours. But my turbo is just slightly bigger, so it will be replaced with smaller one from a PSA 1.4 HDI.
But I am glad to hear and see more

Re: 2cv with smart turbo intercooler.
I want to have more torque at lower rpm (driving 4x4) so I assume a little turbo will do the trick for me. The smart engine has also 600cc so i think this will be the right turbo for me. When I saw my (smart) turbo the first time I couldn't believe that it works, at the narrows point in the exaust it is only 12mm in diameter but that is what accelerats the exaust-gas through the turbofan.

Re: 2cv with smart turbo intercooler.
Today I'm going to order a blow off valve, It is a valve that when you have turboboost and you shift gear (release the throttle-pedal) the pressure build up rapidly (because the throtle-valve is closed) and the turbo fan stops spinning. This valve releases the pressure from the inlet-manifold so the turbofan keeps on spinning and when you throttle up in the next gear you've got intstant turbo boost. Maybe you know this device from a (subaru) rallycar its the psssccccccchhhhhhhhhh sound what you here when they are shifting gear.
