You mean you haven't experienced the full furry of a solex at full pelt, :(

I thought I had... Not sure how I survived. Truly full pelt must be terrifying. Man isn't intended to go that fast, y'know.

Oh, wait. Horses are quicker.
<thinks> Bicycles are quicker.
<thinks> RUNNING is quicker...
<thinks> Even for me...

Well then... Let's say is this way:
I'm going to try to let it run properly as is possible.

Wondering how many times they change the engine during the 24h solexrace in Heeswijk-Dinther (somewere in Holland):

Heard the racers have a top speed of around 70-80 km/h...
That's a deadly speed on a bicycle frame

I've not found insurance at a sensible price.

Is it then so expensice to insure a Solex?
For one of the most used Solex-insurances we have in Holland the costs for Liability coverage is 22€/year.
And for many more insurance company's the prices aren't much higher..

But as fas as I understand some people I spoke to during my summer-holiday in 2008 it's very expensice to insure a car/motorbike/whatever in the UK..

Let's put it this way... Last time I phoned up, they wanted about half to two-thirds as much to insure the Slowlex as I pay to insure my Saab 900 Turbo. Including business use on the Saab...

Yup...

It doesn't appear to help that I don't have a motorbike licence.

The fact I don't _need_ one seems to be irrelevant.

I read in 2cv magazine an advert offering classic car insurance in France starting at €22! On my Ami6 and Bamboo it is £170!

My Merc is pretty horrific at £250 a year!

Because the UK is RIP-OFF BRITAIN, we are being screwed by companies and the government (local and national) and the British public just accept it. :x

Oh, and when the British tax payer says 'enough!' and start to protest, the government quickly bring in new laws to stop it
