 Re: 1987 2CV Bamboo
It's easier if you do the rear sweeps at the same time, I find it difficult to change a back panel without damaging them.
Probably harder to find an NOS back panel...

That's interesting Hans, What parts would you want? I'd be happy to buy it with you and take the bits I need. (The shell, doors)

 Re: 1987 2CV Bamboo
Fingers crossed. It's bloody expensive, but having emailed the guy, it looks promising!

 Re: 1987 2CV Bamboo
Well I'm posting the money off tomorrow, and have pencilled in the 19th of December to go and collect it. It *should* fit in the rental van...

Russell wrote: It *should* fit in the rental van... Mmm. A 2cv will JUST fit through the back doors of an old-shape Merc Sprinter, width wise. A van is wider than a 2cv. A Dyane won't fit. A Mehari won't fit unless the rear frame's absolutely shagged. If you turn the shell on it's side, you should manage, but handholds will be trickier, and you'll need something to put under the side of the cab section to support it, avoid any risk of banana'ing the shell. I'd be wanting to make sure what van you're getting, and the exact measurement - and bear in mind 270deg doors aren't ubiquitous - 90deg isn't good enough, because it'll restrict width further. Don't forget the wheel boxes.
