 Re: Spa 2009
Does anyone of the racers/team's know if the race is still on? In todays news I read the following (babelfish translation): Belgian Council of State suspended the license as a result of a complaint of local residents. Those lodged the complaint concerning noise nuisance two years suffered. The whole article in Dutch: http://www.nu.nl/sport/2087752/vergunni ... horst.htmlAnd translated: http://nl.babelfish.yahoo.com/translate ... l=VertalenIt's babelfished, so don't mind the wrong translations...

Those lodged the complaint concerning noise nuisance two years suffered. Oh, for..! WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS? You don't want noise from motor racing, don't BUY A HOUSE NEAR A RACING CIRCUIT! It's not rocket science. London Underground don't have platform announcements after 9pm on some platforms at Baker St station, to avoid noise to residents in the flats overlooking the lines. The flats were built in the last ten years or so. The platforms have been there for about 120 years. <fx: blood boiling>

 Re: Spa 2009
A friend of mine is working at spa this weekend, and is on his way there now. I just text him to see what the score was and he said:
"On way to Spa now, might be wasted journey, they are going to court in Brussels tomorrow to try and get the ruling overturned"

 Re: Spa 2009
Let's hope they find a solution..
I believe in 2007 there where also complaints from the locals about the noise.
Like Adrian said.. If you don't buy a house near a race track if you can't stand noise..
