Winter camping beats summer camping hands down for me - nowt better than dark nights and bonfires! Yay summer's nearly over, roll on Autumn!

This camp's a no-can-do for me though, I'll be working on that weekend.

Late October and November is a favourite time of year for me. Halloween/Bonfire night, foggy evenings, the smell of decay(leaves) and the expectation of Christmas and New Year(before I get sick of hearing carols)...just Magic. :D

 Sorry, you can get back on topic now

I did Firkin Freezing about 5yrs ago at the Barrel Inn, the highest pub in Derbyshire and it was SO Bl**DY COLD :( , I swore then, never again!! Retired to bed and was so cold, I couldn't sleep and had to put my socks back on(I hate wearing socks in bed :( )

You broke the golden rule of camping, clearly - you tried to go to bed in a tent sober. It Just Doesn't Work.

Mind you, the Barrel at Bretton is more than a little isolated and exposed at the best of times.
