 Re: AZL 1957
Did a testdrive today all went wel. When i came home i wanted to take the key out of the mass switch. To my surprise the key wasn't in the switch???? I had the side lights on and when i opened the bonnet they went out.... It turned out that the mass clamp was thicker than the plus. So it touched the bonnet and contacted to the mass . I have to change to a flatter mass clamp.

 Re: AZL 1957
On the first ride after the brake clean the car was smelly again. I forgot to thighten the exhaust clamp that i had to move over to get the brakedrum off. Fixed that but a bit of exhaust smell stayed. So i did kit of the clamp and pipes. As the old exhaust gum fell of when moving the clamp. Hope it's ok now. Ans there was a bit water leaking in, maybe from the wiper arm. Didi put som grease on it. Will see if this helps.

 Re: AZL 1957
The car was getting more and more smelly.. I did a quick check and it turned out the manifold flanges were leaking. i could turn the nut some 1/4 rotation till they were blocked at 1,9 Mkg. Also some gun gum came of the clamp....let's hope it works now... It's annoying to have to drive with the air flap open in this time of year....

Driving in winter, in the rain without a windscreen is more fun.

 Re: AZL 1957
A few days ago i drove at night and did see the headlights shining in a weird way... it turned out the previous owner had mixed up some wires in the light switch. So i have been driving for 14 years with hi-beam instead of dipped headlamps... Also the lock of the back lid could be opened while locked. Took the lock apart and after cleaning and oiling it still wasn't locking properly. So took an modern handle from my stock. But surprise the centerpin was some 4 cms longer that the 50s model??? So it took lock cylinder and the brass moving part from the newer set and installed it in the old handle...now it's working fine again...
