Hi Rob if you put the 2cv gearbox in the Dyane it will be slower...but stronger to tow something.

Well the car has been delivered to Pete Sparrow over in Hereford.
I'm hoping he will do the Belgian Arm modification and give the Dyane an independent inspection and maybe more. Will have to wait as he is very busy..

Picked up the car on the 6th February, a quick turnaround!

These are the pictures they took of some of the works.
While it was there I asked for soundproofing and waxoyling and he noticed the carb needed jetting etc. I had new tyres as well. Pete Sparrow reccomends 30psi. all round, certainly makes the car firmer. New kingpins were fitted as well. All this was not cheap but as I want to go travelling in it around Europe I am very glad to have it sorted for the future. I am very happy with Sparrow Automotive, the customer care is just what I wanted. Onward and forward, at higher speeds now

Sounds amazing. What's the Belgian arm modification for?

Oh I see, it's braced isn't it. How clever. And indestructible.

Hi Bois, Hope you're all well and getting stuck in.
Now the weather over here has reverted to late Summer early Autumn (Rain ) and I've reluctantly closed the roof, I thought I'd let you know how the car has behaved this year.
Transformed it is, enjoying it so much, which is just as well 'cos it is my primary vehicle, the Landrover filling in with heavier hauling and general cruising.
I'm going to have Sparrow Automotive rebuild and fit a gearbox and sort out a few other jobs including LED headlamps so I'll report back when that's done.
I'm off next month back to Portugal to see Daisy and we'll celebrate my 70th and her 60th birthdays. next year I'll ferry and drive the Flamer down there just for the Craic!
You may think, didn't he used to do all this stuff himself? Well now I am happier to have an excellent engineer to it which gives me more time to earn money to pay him (currently working with a tree surgeon) and indulge myself with the flamin' allotment (challenging this year)
and the Landy, replacing the windscreens this weekend because after fifty four years the screens are so scratched that bright sunshine and especially nightime oncoming headlamps make it not so fine!

That's enough rambling, the Charleston sits under cover whilst I prevaricate on it's future with me.

Cheers Lads.

Great to see you back on the forum and to read about the Dyane and Landi.
