Front strut first fitting, seems to be ok? The tie rod just clears the bottom of the strut. Attachment:

Height of strut may require a dimple in the bonnet:( Attachment:

Repositioned one of the front struts, all works ok for clearance and is softer. But see pics of the subframe?? Its a bit of a mess, so have ordered some new steel, will attempt to design/fabricate a tidier frame:) Attachment:

Have made a strut that has the spring working, irrespective of suspension height. Parts required... Attachment:

Side view... The top mount sits half way down inside the spring and the hydraulic ram is attached there.

First fit of revised suspension, it’s fits!. Need to add hand-brake bracket and brackets for the battery box and exhaust. Then (this time) will take it all apart to paint the whole front end properly. Attachment:

Hi Lpgo,
Where have you been hiding.
Rear End. Citroen C5 strut with 2cv rear springs coil over.
Front End. Hydraulic ram 4ton with 2cv front springs , not really coil over as they are in “series” such that the springs always functions.
However at the front the top bar bends and is bent:) at some point in testing???, needs to be larger section and thicker wall.

I have been thinking (way back btw) about the mounting of airbags. Would be possible if I compare it with your construction, because they are much smaller. I hesitated because our technical safety controls by the authorities would disapprove it because not being original. I do not know if the airbags (small because lightweight vehicle) would fit inside a spring box, and can be hided for the eye of the inspector
