 volts
Morning all!
Battery is showing healthy readings with and without load with my avo meter but the car's volt meter reads just above the shaded area. Should I believe the car's meter? Is there a way to tweak it to give a more accurate reading? I do tend to watch a car's dials so it's a little unnerving to see a low charge reading.
Thanks

 Re: volts
I've no experience with the volt gauge, only what I've read.
With a multimeter, what volts are you getting at the battery at about 1500 rpm?

 Re: volts
Battery voltage is around 13.2v not connected: after starting on fast tickover it reads around 14v (I don't have a rev meter), but as the revs increase the reading is about 14.6v, Headlights on doesn't make a difference, so I don't think there seems to be a problem with the actual charging. It's just I don't know whether the 2cv gauge is known for being particularly accurate.

 Re: volts
The car´s volt meter is not accurate. My 2CV volt meter shows just above the shaded area .As yours does I checked the voltage with a multimeter several times and that was fine . It runs well, no problems starting, having lights on etc., even in frosty winter weather, so I would not be worried about it.

 Re: volts
The 2cv voltmeter is an bimetal that is heated by a resistance cable wound around it so nothing accurate as Geeert says.

 Re: volts
I was trying to say much the same, but my IPaddress was blocked! Edit How about that, you leave it over night, and it fixes itself.

 Re: volts
Not aware of any. Think it was just a glitch, and an odd error coming up.
