Removing floats from Solex 26/35 carburettor

 Removing floats from Solex 26/35 carburettor I want to remove the floats from my Solex 26/35 carburettor and fit a new top gasket. Do you have have to push the brass spindle out from between the carb lugs or undo the four lugs that hold the floats to the tube then remove spindle? Thank you.
