 Re: New (to me) van AK350 "048" = M28 engine (not M28/1 as fitted to AK350 after 05/68 & 2cv after 02/70). "5" (on a black plate) = 1975 "AM2" = Dyane (02/1970>) or Ami (12/1970>). (A 1975 Ami would not have had a single choke carb, so it's probably a Dyane engine.......or a mixture). http://www.cats-citroen.com/citroen_atypes/enginegearbox.html

Re: New (to me) van AK350 There's usually no need to replace them, just identify which type/brand they are and refit them in their correct orientation, so that they can work as intended rather than just being along for the ride...  48pop wrote: Brakes can be fixed and the shocks can be replaced... Re: New (to me) van AK350 I would say go for it.. as you say a 50 years old car can,t be original, but hey who cares.. It will be a lot of fun.. Clean up the brakes put new cups in them, buy new hoses put everything in coppergrease, bleed them and your good to go for another 10 years or so...

Re: New (to me) van AK350 Well, last update on this.......I was finalising plans to head down and tow it home, probably this Friday...I got a text to say he was going to hold on to it... So, I'm back in the market again. My criteria.. - Pref azu250, maybe AK350 - I don't mind alternative more modern engine - Don't mind some tidy up work, bits and bobs of bodyshell welding, but running and on the road a requirement. I've sold my other old car, so have funds that I should spend quickly before the wife decides it would be better spent on a kitchen ! Cheers Gerry
