 Battery Repair
I ordered a new 6 volt battery, but the top of the battery was split around one of the posts. The supplier accepted responsibility and another one arrived today. Seems a shame to chuck the damaged one on the scrap heap. Anyone know of a glue / gunge that may seal cracks above the "water line". There must be one as the lid of the battery is sealed against the tub. BobH

 Re: Battery Repair
Possibly some sort of epoxy. Araldite!
Though if it didn't work, bye bye bulkhead!

 Re: Battery Repair
Apologies for highjacking the thread but I have a query about 6v/12v batteries. My 1932 Morris is a 6v system and I need to replace the battery. My neighbour has a knackered 12v battery where the voltage has dropped to around 6.5v. Is it possible to use it in the Morris, or will it cause damage to the electrics?

 Re: Battery Repair
No - throw it away, it's knackered. The 12V batteries plates will almost certainly be warped and sulphated up. Not an option.
