World Meeting route from Calais or Dunkirk
Currently planning my trip to Croatia next year and trying to decide on a route..plan is to take 4 days to get there...week on the coast then few days at world meeting and the 4 days back..couple of options so far...
Calais to Metz to Stuttgart to Salzburg to Ljubjana or Kirk. or. Dunkirk to Luxembourg to Stuttgart to Salzburg to Kirk
Trying to figure out if there are good over night stop offs or to book campsites

You're not going to the centenary meeting near Le Mans on the way then? (The weekend before the World Meeting).

I'll go Dunkirk because Calais is grim and it adds half an hour to the journey. Current plan is to blitz down in the general direction of the balkans, spend 2 weeks touring and finish up at Samobor for the WM.

Just looking at this myself.
May depend on the Alps.
Northern route suggests Belgium, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia.
Southern route suggests France, Italy, Croatia
Northern route is probably best from Calais/Dunkirk.
Southern route could be Plymouth/Roscoff Portsmouth/Le Harve
For me from Exeter, Plymouth appears favourite, but the fare is £400. Where as if I want the northern route Dover/Calais is £109. Its probably less distance Exeter to Dover, than Roscoff to Belgium.
