Loose the wires and the 2 nuts top and bottom. Remove the brushes. Carfully there is a wire at the underside of the aluminium shield connected to the coils. Use a soft hammer to tap the aluminum shield off. Than you can tap with the hammer left and right to the body of the dynamo and pull on it it will come off slowly. Than you need a large m20 bolt you turn in the ancre and this will be pulled of. No special tool. http://guillon2cv.free.fr/documents/dic ... che79.html

P1010289 by Robndaisy, on Flickr The inner gear has a tiny woodruff key which I nearly lost when removing the camshaft from the half casing! I did, ours is called a sink P1010306 by Robndaisy, on Flickr P1010305 by Robndaisy, on Flickr Those little holes in the heads of the Banjo bolts...the van hasn't got to fly  Never seen facility for locking wire anywhere else on the flamer.

Yes they are bound to the tubes. A friend once was surpised by his parents coming home from holiday when he was sitting in the bathtub degreasing an engine....they were not amused
