My Latin is not so good. Genesis chapter 1 verse 1: 'God said "let there be light" and there was light..' In my case it was the flash on my mobile phone - dark barn, etc... - but it's the same principle.

Incidentally, I'd love to know more about the van's history, but I am unlikely ever to find out.
I bought it in the UK quite a long time ago (actually, I swapped it for a DS, but that's another story), and it's quite clear that the garage which imported it used the papers and registration details from another van. The builders plate says it's an AK Series 2. This has really annoyed me from the day I found out the difference! But it's now re-registered back in France, though its papers still say it's an AK Series 2.
Obviously it isn't one of those. It's the wrong length, for a start!
But I have never been able to find the original chassis number - though I think it is still on the original chassis. I've been told to look on various places but it doesn't seem to be there. Mind you, it's all fairly oily around the engine.
It has a 602cc disk brake engine, with metal cladding not the later black plastic composite stuff. There are one or two things that suggest it may have been rebuilt by the Post Office with that engine. It has the floor-mounted accelerator (organ pedal) but the hanging brake/accelerator pedals.

a friend had an old one that did have a chassisnumber near the middle seat rail. A bit to the rear. But if you have original chassis plates you can find it in the citroen archive. Costs you about 50 euros. Sometimes they even mention the dealer were it was sold new. No painted number left under the bonnet on firewall passenger side.

It doesn't have seat rails - the seats don't slide. Both seats have projecting pegs on the front of the base that go into a series of holes in the floor, and a clip mounted on the floor at the back that can be removed to tilt the seat forward and take it out or to adjust it by moving the pegs into different holes. And it is the chassis plate under the bonnet that has been swapped for one from an AK.

Did those older 2cv:s even had any other numbers than what is on the chassis plate? I have been told that they became to made numbers on late 60's...
Can't say for sure, but that is what I assume there hasn't been any numbers on the chassis..?

Can't say for sure, but that is what I assume there hasn't been any numbers on the chassis..? That sounds quite possible to me. My 1964 H-Van, as illustrated, doesn't have a number stamped onto the bodywork either: just what the controle technique inspector calls a "plaque constructeur". Later vans sometimes had the number stamped on top of the passenger's wheel arch. And every time the H-Van has its CT, I get a note telling me that there's a one digit difference between that plaque and the carte grise: the number is actually 5116846 but the CG has always said 7116846. Luckily as it's only one digit I don't need to get the CG revised (and so lose the old registration number).
