 Re: Headlight/park light switch
On my 1960s stalk there's an additional connector that as standard is unused, but is live with sidelights on, but goes off when dipped beam is switched on.

 Re: Headlight/park light switch
there is an additional connector on older models that were for the double horns. A soft one for the town and a loud one for the road.

It's the same switch as the old 2CV one on my H-Van, but the two horns are the same (ie not a loud one and a quiet one). Press lightly and it's just one horn - press hard and it's both horns, obviously sounding louder. I think the A-series vans in the 1960s were wired for two horns as well.

Yes, and also DS and SM what has one horn at first and when pushed hard there is another horn and air horns together...

 Re: Headlight/park light switch
Yet another difference in warning lamps. This is a UK version. Main beam indicator is blanked and the turn signal is yellow instead of green.

 Re: Headlight/park light switch
Interesting. Why did they blank them? And does that mean I can fish the wires out and fit them?

If yours is a later car: chevrons2 wrote: .......all later cars (early 80's onwards) had the relevant wiring for these two tell-tale lights but it was left loose behind the speedo. 2 pairs of wires close together: one pair has a blue and a brown plastic cover over female spade connectors (for main beam). The other has green and brown (for indicators). Brown is earth. Blue is live when main beam is on. Green is live when either indicator is on.

 Re: Headlight/park light switch
My April 1988 built 2CV has the wires fitted and I've got them both connected. I bought a dash-panel for a Dyane over 10 years ago and fitted the blue one for the high-beam warning, and the green one for the direction indicator warning. Very useful.
