Unfortunately, most of the pictures are gone, and the thread ends before the most interesting part begin, the adjusting and assembling part.

What I got from it, is that the input shaft bearing has part number 6205NR and the top rear bearing has part number 6304NR.

I need more. The rear lower bearing is totally messed up, with deep pittings all over. As is all other bearings in the box.
Any numbers for the rest of the bearings? Where can I get the non standard ones?

The "oil-screw" on the input shaft seems worn. But the clutch house did not seem oily. Is this usable or scrap?


Next, two of the crown wheel teeth has some serious rust on them. Is this gonna make a lot of noise, or is it usable?


I have three spare gearboxes + one in one of my cars, that need overhaul. This is the first one I open up. If all bearings are gone, and the "oil-screw" and the crown wheel, is it only good for parts then? It does not need to be perfect, just good, as in not noisy. What costs am I looking at for all this parts? All casings seem good, everything looked right in the box, all shims are in good condition and syncro-rings seems ok. I have not driven the box, I pulled it from a wreck standing in the woods. The car was mostly gone, but the box looked good from the outside.

That double-row rear bearing on the pinion shaft is 'Citroen only', also the rust on the crownwheel probably spells the end for that pinion and crownwheel set.
Input shaft doesn't look too bad, compare with those in the second picture.

Opened a second gearbox. Nice and clean with a perfect crownwheel and pinion. Input shaft looks good. Bearings look ok, except the differential bearings. One was badly pittet. So I'm gonna order bearings for this box.

Was thinking diff.bearings, input shaft bearings and the upper at the back. I did not find the diff.bearings on eBay. Are they there?
Waiting for respond from a local store. If I order from a 2CV-part supplier, I might also order the lower bearing at the back.

Burton have cheaper bearings than Franzose. Franzose labels theirs as SKF.
I wrote to Burton and asked about theirs, they say it's "HCH" for the diff. And the others are "NSK" and "ARH". That explains the price difference. I googled HCH, and it seems it's a Chinese brand. Anyone on here got any experience with these bearing brands?

My choice would be SKF, more expensive, but they are known for their quality.

It all comes down to a proper quality control, a lot of SKF bearings are made in China as well
