 Dodgy Charging I've noticed a bit of flickering and dimming when I've had the lights on recently, so had the multimeter out today to have a quick check what's going on.
Car off: 12.4v after standing, so battery seems fine.
Idling/revving with nothing on: 14.4/14.5v
Lights on at idle: 13.2/13.3v
Lights on revving: seems to top out around 14.9/15v, no signs of battery boiling currently.
I'm going to check out the connections to the regulator tomorrow but haven't got a spare to try out, is it also worth checking the alternator brushes are alright?

Re: Dodgy Charging Been out and checked the light connections today, as you predicted pretty ropey. The switch looks OK.
I've cleaned them up best I can which has helped a little bit and reduced some of the flickering, but while I'm on, has anyone got a diagram/instructions for converting them to relays? It's something I've had in the back of my mind for a while which I know should be fairly easy, but just want to make sure I get it right.

Re: Dodgy Charging clean your connections mass cable to the gearbox and also the connexion between the altenator and the manifold.

Re: Dodgy Charging take the lighting switch apart and polish the brass drum inside it corrodes and causes resistance make sure the dim/dip system has been disabled-u can tell if the switch is the prob as it gets hot after a time with the lights on
if it needs cleaning
