 Re: Spunkbucket
Thanks for that link Ken, so the Zenith is original... I wonder if there is a link between it having the Zenith & the PO airfilter & front bumper...?

 Re: Spunkbucket
Got my ECAS parcel, put the new studs in, reassembled the engine and got it running. Had to come in for me tea (sausage and chips) so haven't put the wings and bonnet back on but I'll do that in the morning. Starts and runs ok though. Bled the brakes and I've got a good pedal. Will throw all the tools and the front back in/on it and see if I've made a positive difference tomorrow.

I did hear of there being a Dellorto carb "conversion" for the 2CV maybe that is it then. Never seen one in the metal though.

 Re: Spunkbucket
Back to full braking strength, despite the best efforts of the exploding eazi bleed kit launching LHM all over the joint. Changed one of the fucked track rod ends and things are certainly improved, it's almost like a 2cv should be, hooned it home from work like a maniac, had the roof off all day, took it over the downs to get lunch and its been marvellous.
I'm hoping to get the rear seatbelt mounts done tomorrow, and patch up the holes in the floor pans.

 Re: Spunkbucket
Also, if anybody has a rear wiring loom they'd like to sell I need one as this has been hacked about to fit towbar wiring and I'm chucking the towbar away.

 Re: Spunkbucket
It's got new rear shoes/cylinders and the adjusters aren't seized. Thanks.
If I can't get a second hand rear loom I'll have a go with some heatshrink, it's just been hacked up with Scotchlocks and they're a cock to get off.

When I bought our 2cv it had a towbar which I removed. It had scotchlock connections. I had no trouble removing the scotchlocks. Unclip the cover then pull off the plastic with pliers leaving the metal forks still on the wires. Then carefully twiddle off the forks. Decided to refit a towbar later on and made some custom splitters so I could connect to the existing connections. The proper way
