Ok I need to buy a starter motor?
What was the deciding answer?
Valeo only or cheaper alternative?
Is the valeo one used the standard part No for the 2cv6 or a cross over part someone has found that fits but more torque?

found this 1.4KW?

I had the same problem, went to the local starterengine dealer. I now have a very good one. Don't now if it is the same as yours the guy said it has a reduction gear build in...

My video's are made with an old 2cv battery, a standard 2cv starterengine (tried several) doesn't even turn the engine over...

And a picture? I've not seen a reduction gear type for a 2cv.

Yes, this one has it too... Found the bill, nothing much on it. I paid 77,- euro for it...

D6ra43t, but even the Chinese one are carrying this number.. Will take some pics later on...

The only thing is... 1 cilinder didn't have much compression, didn't test it after I set the valves, but as said, none of the (used) 2cv starter engines could turn the engine and this one does it with ease....

How about cable -operated 6v starter..?

Yes, I know, someone says it won't last, but with my own experience, it works well. Have used over 10 years on my 12v Dyane, with 9 winters, and it started well at more than -30C°...

Only disadvantage what I have found, the brushes wear quite fast, needed to replace about once in every year when driven about 30000-50000km/year...
