Post Re: 1-2-spark
What is the thread on Visa sensor? Can't remember that anymore, when I had Visa on my Dyane, I found suitable sensor from Siemens, price was much less than original in that day (somewhere in 1996-1998). Siemens had them both PNP and NPN and they had NC and NO output -also open collector.

From industrial can be found, they are "fast and slow" versions, some of them can handle with engine speed -some of them doesn't.

After that I sold my engine away, I hadn't any interest to find sensors -until now when started to use EFI...

Hi Geo
Great to see visa 1-2-spark is continuing to develop.
I order lots of stuff from China and Hong Kong, great delivery and great price, but I've found if there is a problem they usually refund straight away. Stay cool and just ask for refund.
Good luck with finding sensor

This is for the Traction - but I have this type of distributor on the car at the moment and I will probably need to replace it as the individual parts comes near enough to a full replacement. Will this unit work with the 1-2-spark unit I have.

Also, what coil should I be looking at buying (have to replace 6 volt one to 12 volt anyway so may as well get the right one)

And finally, any new upgrades, sensors, reprogramming required - I am will to send it back for modifications as I really want this one to work with the traction as I am really pleased with the Dyane unit.

So if I understand it correct you want to convert the Traction to 12 volt????

If so the 1-2-Spark (I gave you for the R4L) will work fine here, all you need to do (again) take cilinder one and put the piston at 45 degrees before top dead centre... again the pickup then needs to be exacly beneath the sensor...

I have used a Bosch coil nr. 0 221 119 027 K12V. Accualy each 12 volt TCI coil woulde be fine...

The only thing with distributors is... you have a window where within the spark can jump from rotor to cap... so for a start don't attach the vacuum hose.... be conservative with the advance table..

Over here also the first sub zero temperatures today, captured by the temperature sensor of 1-2-spark..

minus 1.7 degrees celcius..... the ignition gets 7.1 degrees extra advance, so running better when could... Now you can see nicely the diffrence with and without muf infront of the grill..

I remembered mention of twin oxygen sensors in the BMW engine thread and though I should add this;
Spartan Lambda Controller
Documentation
The controller is actually built into the cable.
I use it on my injected 2cv with Megasquirt, it has performed much better (faster, more stable readings) than a much more expensive DIY unit I have been using.
It has a 5v linear ouput, 0[v] = 10 afr, 5[v] = 20 afr.
$US125.00 for the cable and sensor means multiple sensors are affordable.
The producer Alan To has always been very good at customer service

Geo, I don't remember, does 1-2-spark have extra 5v inputs?
I assume you could easily set up your boards and software to read a 0v-5v linear input and convert it into AFR reading?

I just saw that Jeroen Bosma from BS-AutoTune Netherlands, http://www.bs-autotune.nl, is a dealer.

One more step to becoming 1-2-squirt ;)

Thanks Harley you are bringing the light here.. Ofcourse I know them Spartan sensors,
but I don't like them because you need to buy a seperate gauge to see the readings,
One gauge will set you back at least 70 euro... but you are so right, I have about 4 spare anolog inputs at my 1-2-spark, so I can easily make a virtual dashboard in 1-2-spark, showing two gauges for the arf... thanks for your reply....

I have a Techedge wideband at the moment so I can test it with that one.....

Take a look at http://www.jfetech.nl/epages/080402.sf/nl_NL/?ObjectPath=/Shops/080402/Categories/WBO2/14point7 it is 14 euro's cheaper then Bosman... I don't like Bosman send him a few mails when develloping 1-2-spark but he was very negative..... however for a start I had a intake in Megasquirt by him... they where free at that time, nowadays an intake will cost 50 euro at mr. Bosman..
