 Re: 1965 2CV AZ
For anybody who thought we had given up on our AZ , here are some recent pics. of the chassis . IMAG0511 by citroen2cvaz2, on Flickr IMAG0512 by citroen2cvaz2, on Flickr IMAG0514 by citroen2cvaz2, on Flickr IMAG0526 by citroen2cvaz2, on Flickr Next to deal with will be the engine , wonder what we are going to find on that . The chassis was a big job to get it restored , a lot of the inner ribs where so badly rusted that we had to replace them by new material.

 Re: 1965 2CV AZ
Great to see someone repairing a chassis rather than binning it!

 Re: 1965 2CV AZ
I agree. Original is by far the best.

 Re: 1965 2CV AZ
Last Sunday we made a start to dismantle the engine , which was full of surprises IMAG0575 by citroen2cvaz2, on Flickr Left hand exhaust IMAG0580 by citroen2cvaz2, on Flickr Wasp between the cooling fins of the LH. cylinder. IMAG0593 by citroen2cvaz2, on Flickr Lefthand cylinder. IMAG0602 by citroen2cvaz2, on Flickr Righthand cylinder. IMAG0610 by citroen2cvaz2, on Flickr Part of the dynamo IMAG0568 by citroen2cvaz2, on Flickr Bolt to fix the gearbox to the engine , or what is left of it. The seller told us that the lefthand cylinder did not get any oil , so that is probably the reason why it is so dry inside .

That was like my traction engine - no oil to the pistons, oh and a fine sprinkle of water on a daily basis
