My boss is away, so myself and the other employee have busied ourselves by leaving each other messages hidden about the place. Here's my favourite from today.

I managed to get the fixation (3 point) welded on to the little Massey Harris Pony today. We bought a modern grass cutter for the back that did not quite match the 1952 fittings of the Pony. All went fine until my foot slipped off the clutch and rammed the bloody gates, breaking the steering arm in half.  A couple more hours work to reproduce a new steering arm and out to the field to test him out. Very happy :D :D :D

Post Re: The O/T thread!
Just sent this to the Royal Mail, via their feedback form ...

I've just logged in to track an item which is being delivered to me via the Royal Mail Signed For service. What I get when I enter my tracking number is:

"Status: Royal Mail Signed For™ items are only scanned when the item has been delivered. Depending on whether the item was sent 1st or 2nd class, this may be a few days after posting. Please try again later.

Please come back later

Information on your Royal Mail Signed For™ item is not yet available."

Now what, in the name of everything, is the point in that? Why bother with a tracking number at all, if it's only going to tell me where the item is after I've received it? I know where it is "when the item has been delivered", at least unti l my fiancee puts it away somewhere and I can't find it for weeks on end, and I doubt that the Royal Mail tracking service will help me find it in that eventuality.
My suggestion, in short, is that you modify the tracking service to actually track the items from the point where they're posted, through the sorting and night trunking processes to the delivery office and up to the point where I open the door in my dressing gown and blearily sign for whatever it is that's being delivered. I don't need to know where my package is to the nearest mile, or what time it'll be at my door to the minute, or what the name of the postie delivering it will be, but I would appreciate more of a service than being able to track my parcel after delivery. And if you can't manage to modify the tracking service to the point where it's actually useful, you could at least invent some plausible reason as to why you can't track my parcel - computer system down, short staffed, sorting office overrun with giant alien cockroaches from space, whatever - rather than giving me that infuriating message, which leads to me wasting my employer's time composing sarcastic messages like this one and you wasting your time reading them. Thank you.

It won't do any good, but it made me feel better. :)

Autocar article about Citroen.

Announces that Citroen are ramping up their efforts to turn the DS brand into an upmarket rival to Audi, and consequently will drop the Citroen logo from their DS range in Europe... and are looking to develop a rival to the Fiat 500. Typically, the last announcement is a "possible" rather than a "definite".

So last Friday night a friend and I had our third ever attempt at a road rally in my little fiat seicento. Well we only bloody won didn't we! It was our first time with him driving and me shitting my pants as navigator. We beat several 'expert' teams too (the highest ranking). We are jolly pleased about this, and telling everybody we know.

Here's my 'rally car' in action.

Anyone ever owned a Merc G Wagon? I've just read this amazing story and suddenly have a hankering for getting one, selling the house and kids, and driving off into the sunset.
