Great run from Ludlow to the west Wales Coast at Cymtydu via the mountain road from Rhayader to near Devils Bridge - behaved impeccably

Driven down from Unst to Lerwick and will be boarding the Hjaltland by 6pm for the journey to Aberdeen.

Changed the oil and filter, greased the grease nipples, sprayed best quality olive oil into the suspension cans, greased the knife edges, retarded the timing slightly (pinking now appears to have stopped), cleaned the oil cooler, changed the spark plugs.Oh - and painted it. All ready now for a 3 month road trip to Sicily (and possibly further) starting next week.

Had to go and save the wife - the Dyane stopped working.

Funny fault, feels like it has run out or running out of fuel. But then comes good and works normal. Then a little way down the road it starts to splutter and conks out again. The ignition does not work straight away either to turn it back on, I have to wait a few seconds and then it starts perfectly again. Off down the road, slower revs and it does the same.

any ideas.... nothing to do with the electronic ignition.... :?: :?: :?:

So many things on this car but hoping it is a simple fix. :?

Sounds like classic ignition coil breaking down to me. Can you substitute a known good coil and take it up the road?

I don't know how it's fueled but it sounds similar to a blocked fuel tank breather/cap.
