Boring routine service - oil, gearbox oil, kingpins greased and knife edges. Tell me - are the suspension interlinks onto the front knife edges supposed to be rattle loose when raised off the ground?

Yes,
the front knife edges should have play in the tie rod eyes, unless you want the front end to sit far too high.

Washed and polished it. Tried to make the jamming heater cable work smoothly again but no use, I bent it refitting the intake spider, oops. Ordered a new one and was surprised the one from the dash isn't available for right hand drive cars at the mo.

Did Cranleigh Classic Car Show yesterday and we had an excellent turnout including two Ami's and one DS although I neglected to take a pic so shame on me:

Had a trip over to Lincoln for the night yesterday - behaved impeccably, unlike the other half who panicked every time we overtook something or go round a bend at anything like a normal speed.....and got 49mpg - not bad for a 27 year old car

started it , got all the race stuff from the back of the garage , put it away again - temptation to go for a spin was high :(

Went to the metal suppliers to get some bits to attach my grass cutter to my little tractor.

Nearly finished it but need to more parts.

Roof down on the Dyane and the dump valve was a blasting :)

Tried to cheat fitting a new flasher unit next to the fuse in the Acad rather than pull the dash apart looking for the original flasher unit.

Only to discover the chosen fuse also feeds the fuel gauge.......

Full empty full empty full empty full empty - continue ad nauseum.

Wiring loom is mostly made of verdigris too. :?

Isn't the flasher unit fitted to the underside of the parcel shelf, just next to the steering column, 2CV & Dyane style? :?
