A good quality wax - T Cut is too aggressive on the thin paint layer that Citroen used and is likely to cut through to the primer if your not careful!

Thanks! Good job it's raining then! Would wax bring back the colour to near it's original shade? The grey is quite flat looking and the cream is definitely lighter than the touched up areas.

T cut is sooo outdated. It's way too harsh!

This is good stuff:

Dead easy to use - great results and if it dries it doesn't become a total PITA to remove, unlike T cut.

When you've got the colour back, a nice coat of Autoglym super resin will be worth applying and then slap a decent application of collinite 845 - to seal the shine in.

Went for a very pleasant run up to the Churnet Valley for a walk and then drove back via Ashbourne - roof off all the way as a great day - when I got home I decided to put a lie to the old phrase that you can't polish a turd by giving the Celeste a touch of the waxy stuff and it has come up remarkably well....

+ 1 for G3, it's like liquid beauty. I use their Professional Paint Renovator followed by the Resin Superwax. It's just insanely good.

Easter Sunday, we attended the Old Warden Classic Car Show near Biggleswade which, despite the damp and cold (this was a British Easter remember!), attracted some very interesting stuff and quite a few visitors.

The lovely ripple was unrestored apart from a newish paint job and was a total delight to behold and soon to appear in the 2cvGB mag according to the owner. Should have won best in class I think. Traction was nice, too. There was also a Tatra car, first I've ever seen in 'the flesh', sadly without the V8 but the flat four. The owner told us that he thinks its one of only three known in this country and the only one running. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable day out.

Drove back from Sandy in Beds today, the quickest part of the three hour (honest) drive was the cross country route I use to get to St. Albans - after that it was M25 carpark for 40 miles of sub 50mph queues, a total joke.

What does "unrestored but with a recent paint job" mean.

Surely that means it is restored doesn't it??

Mine is not restored but having a new paint job - can I still keep the label unrestored :)

Ha ha! Very good :-) Well, as the owner of the car explained, the bonnet has only been cut back and polished since importing the car from France and the front wings were sprayed to match. Not sure about the other panels. All the rest of the car, including the chassis, is original....."unrestored but with a recent paint job." (Wheels look suspiciously new though, don't they?) How's that?
