We got ours muddy at Melton Autograss...

...and that was just the spectator field! Unlike a few others around us (Skoda VRS, random Vauxhalls, etc) we didn't need a tow from the 4x4 to get either on or off the field

Took the heat exchangers off and refitted them so they don't leak (a lot easier in warm daylight rather than pitch black and snowing). Then cleaned and reproofed the matt's top and gave the car a polish.

A couple of tips to prevent unwanted blood loss and eye injuries - keep the old petrol pipe and put it over the ends of the battery support threads. A WD40 straw will fit nicely over the very sharp ends of the heater control cables. These usually draw blood when reaching down to the brakes.

I used the alloy ferrules that are for the ends of brakes cables on cycles for the same reason on the heater cable/wire

I hadn't thought of that - I'll do it tonight as it'll look a lot neater.

Had a great couple of days around Shropshire in Dasher - went to look at a house we are thinking of buying near Ludlow, then over to Witley Court, then back to Ludlow for a wander around then on to Abels Harp near the Stipperstones with the roof off brr when the sun wasn't shining! Nice quirky small hotel with good food and prices, then back home via Shrewsbury, again with the roof off and a little warmer today. About 200 miles at 45mpg.... Then I decided to confirm timing, tappet gaps and finally spray the odd wing with proper paint and also slosh some oil into the box section of the chassis and paint the top panel as was a little rusty from the usual water leaks around the wiper spindles..

Filled it full of petrol and a dab of additive for the big journey tomorrow.
