Went to the NEC today in the Celeste to get the pistons, barrels and rings run in - runs well now, no fumes through heater and pulls off the clock on the M42 - only problem was one of the manifold clamps came loose on the way home so sounded really rough when idling or at low speeds....

Spent the day in Lerwick yesterday and used the 2CV to take me the sixty miles and two ferry crossings to get there. Images of the car are now on quite a few more cameras today, it was quite the celebrity. Lol. The weather was so nice I decided to fully open the hood for the drive home and managed the full distance with only my hands feeling the cold, but that was only on the last section of the journey when I was back on Unst. A good day. :-)

Thursday evening: opened the garage for maybe the first time since Hugo and I returned from visiting Jonathan in Shetland (more than three weeks ago) The starter was a little slow, but with a squirt of something flammable into the airbox, Hugo coughed himself awake and we pulled out onto the driveway, ready for a trip to work on Friday morning

Ah, no headlights, no taillights, no horn...

That'll be the switch and a new bit of wire then on my days off

Took the adventure bumper and boot rack to Jo, for Sam to collect, this morning - lovely day so came back with roof fully off. Then started looking for oil leak - banjo joint on left cylinder head as I knew it would be and, what I thought was a 5 min job then turned into a 2 hour one as yes, you guessed it, when tightening it up, stripped the thread in the head - out with the helicoil kit and re thread it - hopefully can get it tight enough now......
