 Re: alternators and gearboxes...
No idea what Andy's used, but no need for it to be from a citroen. Correct me if I'm wrong, but ALL alternator pulleys were similar until they started using multi-rib belts, it would be best to keep to something similar diameter, but not critical. Too large a diameter it'll turn slower and won't charge at idle, too smaller diameter it'll turn quicker, might overheat? If it's from a completely different engine the brackets will most likely be different, you can make up brackets so it fits, but do it properly so it's reliable. If you're lucky the local scrap yard will have a shelf full they'll let you browse until you find something that looks like it'll fit with out too much work. Thinking about it, I missed the point of this thread, why aren't you putting a second hand original one on?

 Re: alternators and gearboxes...
I seem to remember a conversation with Andy in a field many years ago that makes me think its a Saxo one.

 Re: alternators and gearboxes...
They have been cheaper but the price has gone up,because the kit car boys are snapping them up as they become available.live bought one it comes with it's plug and built in regulator I will be fitting it once I get the MSVA sorted.
