 Re: Joolz's Red One
In a change from telling you about my broken car, here's a money saving tip. I needed new wipers for the MOT, firstly why is it so hard to buy blade refills these days, because a complete pair of valeos are £11.50. Ebay's finest can be had from just £3.45 a pair, and although you'll struggle to find 10", 21" are common, and to my mind that looks like two pairs. It's a little bit of a fiddle to swap the new rubbers into the old frames, but at £1.72 a pair if they last a year they'll still be better value than valeos. Plus I'm sure they could be found even cheaper if you keep your eyes open in Lidl and on market stalls. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200723449840? ... 1497.l2649

 Re: Joolz's Red One
News? Well I started it today for the first time since November, it fired up fine, but sprung a major fuel leak. Quite pleased it happened at home. The high pressure hoses have perished so need replacing, I know it's been discussed before, but can anyone remember the spec needed for current fuel, or even better has a link to some, for injection systems, 8mm?

I bought my hoses from the local garage supplier - and after about 1.5 years they are splits everywhere - god knows how many cars the garages around here have fitted!!!!

 Re: Joolz's Red One
Thanks, it's a bit pricey but I guess it reckons it's future proof, so to speak. The stuff that's failed has been on there 4 years, it's the fabric braided stuff which I don't really like, but was what they had in the local factors. What I don't quite understand is, we've all heard of fuel pipe failing when it was only replaced a few years previously, but I'm not hearing stories of the factory fitted stuff on 15 and 20 year old cars suffering in the same way. Have manufacturers always used something better than what gets sold aftermarket?

 Re: Joolz's Red One
That's a good point, maybe worth heading to the scrappy and stripping it off stuff in there?

 Re: Joolz's Red One
Russ' idea works well, and it's practically illegal to visit a scrapyard without filling your pockets with something, anyway! You do tend to find it can be quite rigid, with preformed bends, though.
