This might have been asked before.... what output is that alternator rated at? (tried to read sticker in photo!)
Always in the market for a higher output alt ;)

In your case a direct connection to the national grid might be better

Get yaself down a scrapyard.

MK1 Saxo, Marelli alternator, 70A - all mountings in right place, one hacksaw cut and some filing and jobs a good'un, and only 2 wires. Took me bloody years (and several buggered GSA ones)to find one that fitted with as little work.
Internal regs and rectifier packs quite cheap to replace too.
Not that I've ever blown mine from overloading, you understand.

Fraid not, I'll try and have a look at some point, but as the car is currently being used as a shelf it may take some time!

I haven't been able to look under the bonnet - but from the Citroen service pages I'm *pretty sure* its 63 321 641, at least that's listed as Marelli 70A, and the other Marelli PN doesn't look right. (I used to know it by heart when I bought replacement regs and diode packs for it)

That's a 2 wire system, from new it didn't need a warning light, but with replacement VR it did, so best wire one up anyway.
And I forgot to mention - you need to shim the lower pivot mounting, I used an engine-gearbox dowel. I made a very slight bollockup and it quite liked eating fan belts, so be warned. Took me about 2 weeks to (nearly) perfect it.

Andy.
