Totaly forgot about it, so I don´t need any money for it, see it as a sponsorship for your 4x4 from me...... but please put it in and test it, or is it already running..... for questions your always welcome.......

cherish it, it is the oldest 1-2-Spark around at the moment.....

At the moment I´m doing some test with an Automotive temp sensor to retard ignition when the engine is hot or advance when engine is cold.....

I know you work also with temp sensors.... looks great.

These are the once I use and yes they work on 1-2-spark...

I put my temp sensors Always here because oil heats up-cools down to slow

No problem. I remembered you need the software as well so I'll email that to you soon.

If you want a hand setting it up or explaining it let me know and I'll come over.

Hi Geo,

I often see cylinder head temperatures above the limit of this sensor, 150', which is about normal cruise. What happens when the motor gets really hot, around 200', isn't that where you need the most accurate readings?

That's why I put them in the (cooling) airstream near the exhaust, this is the first thing which heats up (even faster then the cilinderhead) when the engine is (ab)used, it is also the first thing to cool down when you go over to cruising mode....

Ahh yes, it's a nice solution! This is how the VW guys get temp reference for injection/megasquirt on the air cooled bugs.

I make a new construction for my pickup. This time i weld because i had to remove my flywheel i can weld it properly. 12 spark fires well now.

I also removed a little metal from the oil pump cover. This give the pickup some more space.

18 oct dyno day, then we can adjust the ignition properly

Today I tested Harley's milking machine on my car!!..... Milkingmachine?????

Take a look at this pic..
Attachment:
ls2_1.jpg

It is a milking machine isn't it......

So 4 coils serving 4 sparkplugs, giving twinspark ignition to a 2cv.....

Here a pic of the magic box (without cover)
Attachment:
Ls2_2.jpg

The 4 purple wires are the wires which operates the coils....

And 2 video's running them in my car. Because I have no twinspark, I've made 2 sparkplugs
igniting in the air, helping to make the hole in the ozonlayer smaller 8-) 8-)

and another video (to prove it is reelly running on the coils..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIbsG9eksdM&feature=player_detailpage

But.... I can't notice any diffrence in behaviour or power between this coil or a simple black 2cv coil, so I will stick with my black coil...... sorry Harley..

I will testdrive it this week, driving it to Spa Franchorchamps and when there are no issues I will ship it to Harley.....

Nice work Geo :D
It is a milking machine!
Is there a dyno day soon you where going to attend, woukd be good to test them out ;) 100's of Corvette drivers can't be wrong about these coils being more powerful... could they... we'll they do drive Corvetts!
Let me know when and how much money you want me to throw at you!

Cheers

Yes this Friday therse a little 1-2-Spark dyno day, (the day before Spa Franchorchamps)

Again I don't notice any diffrence in my 2cv with these coils. Because you only have 1 spark event every rotation therse plenty time to load the coil and make a nice spark.....

However in a V8 there will be a hughe diffrence driving 8 of these or driving on 1 coil with a distibutor, then there wouldn't be enough time to make a decent spark and there will be a big advantige in these.....

But it looks cool doesn't it..........

I made the little milkmachine because I wouldn't brake down the Original loom, I leave that up to you.....

Now a little example:

2cv: 1 sparkevent every rotation.....
let's assume 6500rpm (I don't go higher in my standard car)

60seconds/6500rpm= 0.0092307
so every 0.0092307 sec a spark has to occure

dwell .004 sec so 0.0092307-0.004 =0,0052307 sec are left between where the coil is in rest.....

The otherway round is

in the 2cv:
dwell 0,004sec
min. sparkduration .00075 (this is the time needed to make a nice spark in a (black 2cv)coil)

So in this setup a 2cv can go up to 60/0.00475= 12631.578 rpm , before your spark will get weaker.... I think this will do in a 2cv......

V8
In a V8 there are 4 spark events every rotation.....

this will give you

0.00475*4=0.019sec. 60/0.019= 3157,89 rpm
So above 3157,89 rpm. the spark of a traditional V8 starts already to get weaker.....
Thats why they invented the LS coils....... (and they give much less electrical noise over a distributor with 8 long spark leads comming out)......

Cheers Geo....
