See my previous post.....it will possibly be because when you are on your own, you're low down and probably rolling and predicting the corners too, so you keep the c of g within the confines of the car - when you were at Snetterton, were the guys standing in the rear aware of the corner coming up or leaning the wrong way? If so, they could well be outside the cars confines and, combined with a higher moment above the centre of gravity given rise to the bicycle like nature of your voiture......

To my mind it was entirely due to the well built media types you were transporting raising the center of gravity. Softer suspension would have made it worse, but would have given you more warning.

The youtube clip above is sped up, if they'd tried it at the speed they appear to be driving it would have been over. The only interesting bit is the slide at 1:45, the back end of the car is extremely stiff. So much infact that I think it may be solid to allow the car to loose grip more easily, and probably fitted with a rear wheel handbrake. Notice importantly the guy hanging out the rear door, doing his best to move the CofG towards the inside of the corner. :geek:

Do you think that the standard 2cv suspension allows a front wheel to come off the ground and prevent acceleration? I can't understand why they don't fall over more often, especially with all the cocking about that goes on. I remember throwing my ami6 from opposite lock to opposite lock at a camp flat out in 3rd and at no point did it fall over, I've also taken chassis home on the roof, again, no obvious signs of instability. Maybe I'm just awesome at making cars go round corners. Remy Julienne, I'm coming for you.

I believe the slip on the tyres is less than than the tip angle so the car under steers rather than roll - I remember getting completely sideways, full opposite lock, to full opposite lock 3 times at 70mph and thankfully came out unscathed - you can easily roll a 2cv by reversing and turning tightly - if you do it before the box unwinds that is!

Yes it does, I had wheelspin in those corners:

I have had my 2cv on two wheels on more than one occasion. The car immediately loses traction and speed. The last time I had a lot of firewood on the roof, that helped of course ;-)

That's a lovely clip - and at 1:45 the rear suspension is surprisingly high. For almost all the rest of the time it's right down where you'd expect it to be with that many people on board. Compare it with 1:50.
