Post Re: Alternative Engines
I think I would be inclined to go for a really well engineered and executed turbo/intercooled/injected 602 otherwise what's the point? If I was going to lose the cars character then I'd just go extreme and fit a proper superbike engine. Any old random lump thrown in and cobbled up doesn't appeal to me much. Yeah, so it's a flat or V twin, and the connection is?

That's my thought too, it is in my eyes much more fun to tickle some extra horsepower out of a standeard 2cv engine then putting a beamer in it..... and no I will never make that amount of horsepower what a beamer does, but it is really much quicker then a standard 2cv, how much I don;t know and I don't need to know either..... but it is just for fun...... and doing it low budget, the smart turbo is made out of 3 broken turbo's, the intercooler was for free, the car run already on megasquirt, only the piping was the money..... How much does a beamer set you back including adaptor-plates aso...????

and with a beamer you still don't have this sound.....

The new R1200 BMW engine, all 125hp of it. Unfortunately they've completely redesigned it with an integral gearbox, and clutch on the front, so it won't fit nicely in a 2cv. The animation's nice though if you like techy stuff and engine internals.

Can't get it to imbed, irritating.

I think is to long to fit a standard 2cv chassis.... BMW boxer just fits....
So then you need to make major adjustments to chassis bonnet and probably wings....
otherwis I think it will work....
