 vintage sign-writing on citroens
ok I´m dead interested in proper hand painted signwriting and patina on old bodywork. It seems that the VW bus guys have cornered the market for all this and that seems surprising and a shame. I´m sure there must be loads of examples on old azu´s, ak´s and h vans and maybe the odd 2cv, but I´m finding very little out there on the web.
any pix you guys have got can go here please because I can´t find a similar thread on the forum cheers

 Re: vintage sign-writing on citroens
to start the ball rolling I´ve already said elsewhere that this is pretty much my favourite thing in the world at the moment and heres some (perhaps excessive, if not pleasing) patina

 Re: vintage sign-writing on citroens
I've ben quite interested in this too - I've a white Acadiane, when I got it, white was the last colour I wanted, so I've been looking at various A series van paint schemes with a white base. Also because it's a Mixte, the larger window prevents any large writing on the sides. Most of the results I get are of models rather than actual vehicles, but I really like the paint scheme on the Orangina vans, albeit I think their branding would have been completely different when the Acad was about... But it's like a commercial SPOT.

If you look on the lists under 'General 2cv chat' and click on 'Old world meetings' you will find many pictures that may be of some use/inspiration ...

Sod the livery, I just adore those ridiculous hightop Acads. We spotted this one parked up in St Jean d'Angely, in the Charente, in '09.

There's a French fella on facebook 'jean-do jacotte' or something like that , he does vintage style signwriting, saw him doing 2cv vans etc at the salbris WM .
