That sounds like just the job, three more questions if I may.

Would it be likely to need a vast amount of horribly expensive impossible to get parts?

Could it be posted (I'm happy to pay) to Salisbury?

How do you accept payment?

Ah Russ, you are so funny  .I have just managed to get mine to do 21 mph on the flat. They are basically crap on hilss, you will need to pedal. But,they are great fun,and everyone I have met with one since buying one has been just like 2cv'ers,very friendly and helpful.
The max speed on my speedo is 29mph.That was going down hill obviously.I could have gone faster, but the engine starts making horrible banging noises's,like piston slap,or its going so fast, its trying to jump off the frame   .

I don't think it will need vast amounts of parts. The engine isn't seized, and the wheels turn.I will dig it out and take a look.

Hmm,not sure about postage. (might deliver for the cost of fuel maybe)

Paypal ?

Sounds good.

Cardiff to Salisbury is a fairly dull drive which as a round trip would make for at best a very boring afternoon if not longer. Google suggests £30-40 worth of fuel, plus bridge toll which is then only marginally less than the cost of posting which would leave you with significantly more quality time to spend as you please.

A conservative estimate based on it fitting in http://www.packingboxes.co.uk/bicycle-b ... tAodkkoAfw comes to just shy of £52 to post, or near as makes little difference £70 with buying the box.

I'm in Newcastle till the end of the month and then in Preston till christmas, but I have a friend who is happy to collect it from Cardiff train station (tickets for next saturday for instance currently coming to about £25) if the engine can be removed to go into a holdall, or have you had any experience of taking one on a train without disguising it?

On an additional note, just on the off chance, you wouldn't happen to have any others for sale per chance? My friend appears to have had his interest piqued somewhat in these.

Sam and I are interested in the job lot, how many engines do you think could be salvaged from that lot for the ones other than the '59??

Not including the 1400,I would say 4.I have lots of bits at home also,so parts shouldn't be a problem.
