Re: French National 2013! Not Sammie this time but Mister Kelso ended his National at 2CViking fixing the gear box. The garage guys at the meeting had a try removing the lid and rear cover, only to closed it again doing nothing + missing the selector fork ring unscrewing. They did the 2 rear nuts forgetting locking the speedo nut  The 2-3 sliding pinion moved forward rubbing on the back of the input shaft gear, making a terrible noise. The selector ring nearly came off the thread but luckily didn't. I may find other things as the box is stripped completely Attachment:
