There is only one feature that makes Dyanes better than 2cvs, which is aerodynamics, in my opinion...

Just my opinion .....but the Dyane is a better car than the 2CV .... :|

Except for those stupid front windows.
And the amount of "faffing" to remove the front wings.
Oh ......and they aint as cool as 2CVs either. ;)

Nay, lad. Nothing is cooler than a battered Dyane with one headlamp trim missing.

This was discussed at the last "RADARS" meeting [Rotherham and District Association of Roaming Snails] ......one of our members suggested using suckers on the wire clips [suckers of the type which fit on kitchen walls etc to hang yer towels etc on] .....seems the idea is to put the sucker onto the wire clip and then the window does'nt flap about ......[neither will it break the weld which holds the window shut on the OE clip].
It sounds a good idea to me ......I mean to take a look in my local "Pound Shop" or "Wilkos" next time I'm in town......

So,whilst on a visit town today I found these ...
Image
Plastic suction cups .....cost 89p for four [from Wilkinsons/Wilko's]

With the hook part removed ....I used a small cable-tie to fasten the cup to the wire clip..

The window does'nt open as wide as the "Barry's Clips"/"Rubber Blocks" allow ..

I did'nt try them out on the car whilst driving ....and tbh,I cant say I'm *that* impressed with them.

I guess they could be used for closing the window too for those who feel that banging it shut expresses "a lack of mechanical sympathy" [as was mentioned on "another forum"].

This solution looks soft and cool.
Until now it's my favourite - in 2 days I'll test it.
Thanks, Terry ;)

It works, definitely! :D
In 350 kms, it didn't work only one time.

"Open on wing mirror" is a pain in the arse, as you've got to move the mirror every time you want to shut the window. And presumably it makes it harder to see thngs in the mirror.
