Ive found driving without the bolt done up gets the fan off, although ive wrecked the blades in the process  never loose the bokt somehow either

Er, no link. He showed me this gadget in Czech four years ago, I guess pm'ing him would be the way to go.
What Sean is saying is that constant applied pressure won't shift it, but a sudden, high shock loading is the approach to use. You have definitely removed the bolt?

no Martin got my drift, but as we're being sensible it has to be a sharp ringing blow as its the ringing sound is the the shock that's being transmitted to the hub - same with splitting tapers on ball joints.

Rust NEVER sleep. This one is only one year old. Grease is good. Allen key on a 8 mm socket through the middle reaching the bolt. Unscrew the bolt and the bolt will hit the bush, voila pop and the fan is off. No hammering Attachment: fan_hub_316.jpg
