Post Pony's Project - 4x4
If any one is interested

Ru posted the Chassis Build Video of the latest Barbour 4x4 Chassis
on the Barbour web site and You tube
I call it Type 2
as its a whole lot different to what went before
and gives a basic idea of how its all, put together

Enjoy

Glad you like it

I am trying to post more stuff as I get time.
next will be the centre prop shaft bearing carrier
now already 6 years in testing. Great results with no bearing failures .

Then I hope to add a build up of the Series III transfer box.

I am thinking of building Rear arms with drum Brakes as original

This could help towards legal Registration as using original brakes means they would not need to be tested

Any thoughts on this subject??

Also just about to make the tool to press AK type front bumper Over riders

+ I am starting to make LHM flexi brake hoses with adaptors to suit 3.5 pipe and 10 mm banjo fitting this means Very Quick dis connection for Gearbox / Diff removal

Ideal when the box needs to come out
No more twisting the 3.5 pipe and associated damage

Whats the problem with drums/disks at the gearbox? Every Mehari 4x4 or Sahara has them too , so there can't be a problem about that I guess.

Try to focus on EU approval/confirmation?? of your chassis starting with(4x2)
then you can go 1 step beyond to a 2cv 4x4 chassis with disk/drums at the rearbox..

This would be the way I would do it.....

Please start your own topic. Its worth it.. and no I'm not a moderator

Looks good, mate.

So where's the fuel tank go in these new chassis?

thats RIDICULOUS! all that box section causes it to loose flex - and a chassis that doesn't flap about like soggy toast will fall apart and the body will burst into flames and the world will end :P

thats quite a feat of cad programming and lazer cutting - you could offer it as a flatpack diy kit
