Nothing today, but had the car serviced on Tuesday (in readiness for a trip to Shetland in four weeks time), and having had the gearbox oil changed, I've found the gears are now engaging much smoother. It's still snicking as I drop down the 'box into 2nd, but 3rd seems to be cured. Not a bad old 'box for 224,000miles. Looking forward to the last trip to Shetland before I move there around June.

Sparky came home!

In prep for the house move, I've been rummaging, tidying and consolidating garages. The keys to one lockup are going back next week, so Sparky had to be woken up. Got to sort MOT for next week, but a brief warm-up and brake-clean on the half mile from lockup to house wasn't a problem. So now, he's tucked up safe and warm here. The AK moved from this garage to the lockup that the 205 hid in whilst we were away, and the 205's busy working HARD for a living - three runs between garages stuffed full of parts today...

Now just to get shot of all the Allegro bits that seem to have appeared in the lockup... <grin>

Got it to a point where it should pass an MOT (minus plates) and de-subbed / moved stereo to give me some boot space.

Brakes were a bit iffy last night with full load so took the wings off and got the drums removed and had a butchers at the shoes - fairly even wear on one shoe and a bit irregular on the other - fashioned a simple centralising tool and now they lock the fronts up in the dry - result! As the wings were off , I thought it easy to grease all the 4 points on the front axles only to discover one of the king pin nipples had split and was spewing grease everywhere. Then, to cap it all, found that the brake master was pissing brake fluid everywhere via the seals that the reservoir sits on....GRRRR!

Is that the red light district
Cannot make Burtons test day as on 8th June - I am in Le Mans for 24hour test day on 9th. Luckily Geo has phoned a different Dyno place close to him and found a price for 1 hour use. Will use that one - maybe just before SPA race.
