Headlamp peaks are Naff.......

Not just naff, but also a 'grey area' when it comes to insurance. Having what amounts to a blunt blade facing a pedestrian, I'd hate to think of the consequences of an impact with soft tissue. Way back in the '50s there were some European countries that banned raised bonnet motifs and headlamp peaks due to statistics showing a clear increase in risk to pedestrians hit by a vehicle fitted with such accoutrements. Morris had to change the bonnet motif of the Minor for certain export markets. But like all things it's what somebody is willing to risk and their personal preference.

I would imagine if you are going fast enough to hit someone and bring them into the headlights,thats the last thing they will be worried about.

Quite, but what would be the stance of your insurance company? That's the point I'm trying to put across.
