Thanks, my dad had to got to hospital (chest and back pains) but all is fine.
The chassis isnt bent but the body, because it was starting to go, is f***ed. Floors, bulkhead, cills and rear inner wings bonnet hinge etc. The engine is also kaput: cracked engine casing and gearbox bell housing. Hopefully the insurance company can give a good deal, its a bit manic at the moment but we'll sort something out.

He was stationary down a hill (bridge at the bottom). He could see that there was a van going a bit too fast so he stopped to let him past, the van saw him, braked… locked up and then went into him. As my dad's a fireman, he had a few things to get off his chest before going to hospital. But thats pretty much it. He has a few witnesses so it should all be fine.

I finally got paid by the insurance company for when I got rear ended on NY's eve, they payed me out at what they deemed to be market value of the car minus what a wrecker would take it away for, $AU8900 or £6,000 and I got to keep the car registered and repair it myself :-)

Sometimes we can win .

wow, if my brother gets that then he will be better off then he was before the crash. He was just about to spend £2k on getting it perfect anyway.

Just took the engine out before breakfast while everyone else was still snoring in their tents.

50 minutes :D

Now to sort out the issue with the new clutch

Went to small motorcycle/ car show in Dol Bretagne and saw this lovely Ami6 (other nice cars there). Looked underneath and it was running on Van suspension - is this normal??

What makes you think "van"? Big spring cans? If anything, vans are running Ami suspension...
