Must surely be that Ricard Ami with the D*lly engine in it. That went like stink and left Harry's 2cv for dead on the A14 on the way home from Snetterton 2011.

The Beige Beast will do well over 80mph but the fastest, not necessarily a true 2CV, was our Sidewinder that did a GPS stated 100mph with 4 up on the A55

Aw, ref! Surely having four cylinders is cheating! :)

I've had 83 on sat nav. It was going down a big hill and my foot wasn't anywhere near the floor but from the noise I'd have said if I'd floored it the crank would have flung itself out of the engine.

Indeed - let's set some rules up here, Simon... How much has to be "2cv" to count?

At least a Sidewinder's all Citroen - what about Joolz's BMW twin-powered Spesh? There's that mid-engined Esprit-under-Acad shell. Or the MGF-under-Dyane. Or the various v8-powered 2cvs which often pop up at world meetings.

If an engine swap disqualifies, what about forced induction? Going back years, there was CAR magazine's turbo, or a supercharged Mehari which showed up at meetings back in the day, both on normal M28s. Or, of course, LPGO's turbo.
