Re: What did you do with your A Series today?
Took the dog to the beach at Winchelsea a few miles away; amazingly mild for the time of year. Filled up in Rye, on the way, and may have been a quick to turn the nozzle on - fuel spurted out over the forecourt and me. Didnt have a fag at the beach.

Continuing on from yesterday, cleaned and refurb'd the light and indicator switches from the acad. 99% sure i put them back together right, but will have to wait until its light again tomorrow to reinstall them and find out! Once I'd stripped the 'face' away from the steering column, I almost gagged from how filthy it was in there - mud, hair, unidentifiable gunk - you name it! The switches and gauges were caked in it as well

Finally finished riveting the new brake adjusters onto the backplate of the Dyane front drum. Got as far as puttiing the backplate back onto the gearbox before I had to stop and get ready for work. Still, it's progress.

Waiting patiently (or not) for the posty to deliver my replacement Regulator. So frustrating this waiting. In fact so much so I just bought a brand new dynamo too.... better to be safe than sorry. Hope to get the van up to the MOT centre by early next week and get it registered in my name at last.

So it was not the regulator then..... so another wait until the Dynamo arrives.... Still had a little drive out though to a friends house. Had to leave before dark in case there was not enough voltage left to run the lights

Changed the electric fuel high pressure pump as had to tap it sometimes to get it to start (I bet it was made in China!!)

I cleaned the rusty, moss covered wrecks outside work, does that count? It was lunchtime and I was very bored.
