 Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250
Would a bonnet from a 1959-1960 2CV fit my 1970 AZU van. My current bonnet is a little tatty so might take advantage of one being sold. Just wanted to make sure it would fit.

 Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU250
The 1st replacement part on my new Fourgonnette. The windscreen washer pump (Pompe Lave Glace). The nipple was broken and no way of glueing it securely so Le Bon Coin came to the rescue with a nice new shiny one. I hope the rest of the restoration will be so easy

The answer to the bonnet question is "no". The earlier "ripple" (petite ondulee) has a slightly different profile.
The later bonnet's profile was changed to take into account the alternator positioning. The headlamp bar was changed from a straight one at the same time.
Also, the side pieces are an integral part of the earlier bonnets, but are attached to the wings on later models.

Yes Jacqueslemac i right... But it can be done with modifications on headlampbar.
But, with front indicators on front wings... old ripple bonnet doesnt look right... My opinion. Your AZU is nice as it is... leave it original.

 Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250
Yes your are right, I kept looking at it and thought it is 100% original so far and I am buying original parts to exchange so why mess it up. My bonnet is a little bashed - how easy is it to get it into shape. There are a couple of tears in the top and many dents. I need to start thinking about tools for all of this - any lists of "must haves" knocking around.
My Haynes restoration book arrives tomorrow (with my daughter for christmas)
Cheers Ian

Had a little christmas run today, let my son have a drive. Only a short spin up the road as I still need to get my Contrôle Technique http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php ... 0413144459

 Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250
But then when checking the engine and revving it a little from the front, the bloody fan assembly shot off and skimmed my leg. The front grill is not fitted at the moment (fitting lugs broken) and it seems the last owner had not tightened the fan up correctly. It was a bit of a shock and luckily my leg was not too much in the way of it's trajectory. New fan required

Before u buy the hole assembly the plastic bit unbolts from the metal bit. Check the metal bit doesnt have a hairline fracture
