 Re: What did you do with your A Series today? Not my 2CV, but I was doing it: Took out manky old dash, fitted new fuel gauge, new speedo surround, new dash, new/cleaned up switches and sorted all the wiring and bad connections out. Car now has a full working set of electrics.

I spent 45minutes fiddling under the bonnet trying to get the b*gger to start  A worn starter motor and an under-used battery - I hadn't opened the garage door for a whole two weeks, and before that only one trip in the previous five - didn't help. I changed the coil after a while and eventually jumped him from the Focus, managing to keep him coughing &spluttering long enough to warm up Then I drove 14miles to the workshop to drop him off for a service, some maintenance and an MOT By the time I have him back, we'll have covered only around 10% of the average monthly mileage in November / December (100miles each)
