Post Re: Solexes
Finally had modified carb and adjustable jet today. The first one he sent me was not for the 2200 as I stated. In the end I send him my carb and modified that. The bore is now 9mm instead of 6.5mm (I think). On first impression the adjustable jet is a good idea as can alter the mixture on the run. 1/2 a turn in sweet spot goes from rich to lean. Tried with normal air cleaner on and with no air cleaner and black cover and had to adjust mixture because more air (as it should be) but cannot see great difference to original set up. Also because jet is sooooo long you have to remove the little plate that runs down the frame behind engine. In short - adjustable jet :) modified carb :| :|

Don't think it will fit - exhaust is too small :D
Quick up date - was not happy with length of jet so found he had only glued the wing nut onto the thread so cut the spring and placed lock nut onto thread and shortened the whole thing. Does the same job but now the plate behind the engine can go back on.

Whats the name of the guy you bought the jet/carb off?
A couple of guys on the NACC forum are having some trouble getting parts they have paid for off a supplier in France.I think he sells performance parts,in fact,I know he does, cause one of the said chaps has paid for,and not recieved,a modified engine.

Do not know if this will work as first ever upload. If it does the first part of clip is climbing very small hill and then when the speed increases it is flat. Very nervous doing the clip as wet leaves and mud on road. Compaired to when I bought it - only run on half choke - to now great improvement.

The guy I bought mine off goes under - Vintage Connexion - email - vintageconnexion@orange.fr
He speaks English (basic) but was fine to deal with and the first part arrived when he said but was for later 2200 or 3800. When I sent him my carb it took 1 week to return modified.
Overall I would say it has made a diffference - As video shows can go along nicely at 34 kph on the flat and having the ability to alter the fuel ratio is great. Can do on the move so can tune it. Overall jet 10/10 - carb 7/10.
