i noticed that my windows are binding on the door so they do not open or close easily, do you simply bend it somewhere? i expect gravity has taken effect?? also on the drivers side the little tab is missing on the bottom part of the stainless rim around the glass and... the retaining clips on the inside of the door are buggered, i see you can get stainless ones, any idea what these are like for longevity?

is there a fix for the missing lobe??

I've got a pair of those. They've been on a couple of years so they're doing better than the previous ones I had. The cheapy ones didn't seem to last long at all.

i also had the little bracket snap off from the bottom of the glass frame, i had to fit a second hand complete window
what side is yours on? mine was the passenger side (rhd car btw) my bro has a spare drivers side glass /frame but i,m not sure if he will part with it
the prob with the window binding at the bottom can be cured by tapping the metal door lip with a hammer !

Back in the day I bent a wee bit of stainless 90deg and with some careful drilling of the frame and a couple of pop rivets all was well with my drivers window for many, many years.......

This one, circa '82

Rather than attacking the door, it's better to tap the window frame back into shape.
Stainless steel window frame in contact with mild steel joiner inside = galvanic cell, with the rust forcing the window frame apart.
Same story with the lower window clip, its mild steel 'tongue' is the loser in contact with the larger mass of stainless steel in the frame.
Of course, water is needed for these little corrosion cells to function, but that's no problem in the UK...
