 Re: Early Ami
there may be a small circular disk poped to the bulkhead in the engine bay it will be stamped with 3 numerals or AC### that's the factory code, plenty on line lists of the colours
Mat may have a better idea where it might be or what any alternate markings may be for that age of Ami

 Re: Early Ami
Did a bit of patch making today Not happy with the front 90 degree curve where it goes towards the sill so that will need tightening up Quite chuffed with the swage I put in using a Hammer and the gap between 2 paving slabs as a D*lly Its nearly time for hot metal glue. a few more fillets to make and its going to start being stitched up.

 Re: Early Ami
Wow!! I am very impressed by your determination mate....I had one of these Amis up til January when I then sold it to Russ....they are fantastic cars but rust like a bean tin on the beach....like Russ said, the A posts are the hardest bits. And good rear wings ar ethe hardest panels to find, though GRP ones are slightly less rare.
I no longer run Citroens but will be keeping an eye on this thread and will chip in with anything that I learnt about in the 3 or 4 years I had mine.
Very best of luck with it all

Very best of luck with it all Thanks Willami It looks like I have a big day coming tommorrow I have not taken pictures but the A Posts are indeed toast. Everything all went a bit dusty when I got the sander out and the paint off. The Door and wing is off. and i have drilled the spot welds off the top hinge mount, this bit is mostly OK bar a little bit at the bottom thats holed. There is nothing under the bottom hinge mount. there was about 2 spot welds holding on to the top mount the rest was lace. There really is not anything there to patch up There is a section of about 4 inches in the middle that is good metal. The inner where it meets the parcel shelf is holed as is the bulkhead around that area. Looks like I will be heading off for some more steel stock tomorrow.
